- Salary -
$28.00 - $45.25 hourly
$49,504.00 - $80,002.00 annually

- Description -

Scheduled Hours per week: 34 hours per week

A Non-Merit vacancy exists in the Office of Information Technology.

Non-Merit positions are not classified within the Baltimore County
Government Classification and Compensation Plan.

- Required Qualifications -

Bachelor's degree, which included at least four courses in the field of
computers; plus at least three years database administration experience.

Additional database administration experience may be substituted on a
year-for-year basis for the required education.

Required experience to include the following:

Database design/data modeling, performance tuning, and backup and recovery
procedures.

Development of SQL scripts, stored procedures and other database objects.

Operating system command language.

Systems Development Methodology.

- Character Requirement -

Persons appointed to this classification must be of good moral character and
emotionally stable as determined by a comprehensive background investigation
and a drug test.


- Proof of Education -

Applicants are required to submit proof of education beyond high school to
meet the required qualifications of the position. Transcript must show at
lease four courses in the field of computers. Copies and unofficial
transcripts are acceptable.

- Examination Procedure -

Qualified applicants will be assigned a rating based on an evaluation of
their training and experience, as submitted on their application and
supplemental questions. Applicants are advised to state the dates, duties
and responsibilities of past and present experience clearly and completely
for evaluation purposes.

- Conditions of Employment -

Persons appointed to this position may work extended hours, nights,
weekends, and holidays as required. Employees may be subject to call to duty
as required. Employees in this position must be available on-call for
production problems 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Medical Examination

Applicants selected for an appointment to a position in Baltimore County
must successfully complete a physical examination. The examination will
include urinalysis to prove the applicant is drug free.
