Jaferia Youth organized an amazing program to celebrate the auspacious occasion of Eid-e-Ghadeer on Friday December 28th, 2007. The program began with two young brothers ages 8 and 7, Br. Mohammad Reza Jafri , who had memorized Surah Rahman, and Br. Shujat Husain who had memorized the translation of the Surah. Sister Kauser Rizvi, aged 12, delivered an excellent speech on the "Love of Imam Ali". She was followed by another spectacular presentation by Sisters Komal Zehra and Sehar Husain on "Implementing the Sayings of Imam Ali in our Daily Lives". Finally the keynote speaker for the program was none other then Sayed Haider Bahar ul Uloom, who gave a riveting speech with the topic of "Ghadeer: The Heart of Islam".

On December 31, 2007, Jaferia Youth organized a New Year's Eve Extravaganza, which was held at Idara-e-Jaferia from 7:00 to 11:00 pm. Maulana Naqvi kicked off the event with a lecture on the significance of the new year in the Islamic lunar calendar and how it compares to the calendars of other faiths. The youth were able to play video games on Playstation, Xbox, and Nintendo consoles, and they also participated in other fun and exciting games and activities throughout the evening. With this event, the youth were able to have fun in an Islamic environment on the New Year's Eve holiday under the supervision of chaperones. |
